Sixth-year primary school students from Moguer and Mazagón have visited Grufesa as part of the ‘Grow your values’ awareness campaign to learn about all the stages in the strawberry production chain from the moment the strawberries arrive from the cooperative’s fields to their transport for distribution. This is to appreciate the effort and sacrifice, as well as other values associated with the working environment, which go into the sector with the greatest socio-economic impact in the region.
The students participated in the fourth of the campaign’s five educational units, all about Work Values, in which they visited the Grufesa facilities to learn about the departments involved in the production stages and note the real operations of a company in the industry to help to break the prejudices that are sometimes randomly associated with the sector.
“We want the children to learn to value the culture of effort and sacrifice, and the importance of training for the future to enjoy more opportunities. To reap what you sow” stated the manager of Grufesa, Carlos Cumbreras.
‘Grow Your Values’ also involves collaboration by the City Hall of Moguer and Obra Social La Caixa and will be run throughout the school year, reaching over 1,200 students.
