Grufesa ends another successful strawberry season slightly down on sales volume but up on turnover

The firm Grufesa, based in Moguer, Huelva, has ended the strawberry season with slightly lower sales of fresh produce than last season, but with an increase in turnover, forecast to be around 45 million euros.

The manager of Grufesa, Carlos Cumbreras, has described the season as ‘positive’ in terms of production, quality and prices, and has highlighted the constant effort in maintaining the high standards of quality that have allowed the company to establish itself as one of the sector’s leaders.

‘It has been an encouraging year and we can feel quite satisfied’ says Cumbreras, though he warns that ‘we cannot sit back now, but continue to make every effort to improve our product.’

One of the keys to their success has been their completely sustainable and environmentally-friendly work philosophy, thanks to projects such as Bayer CropScience’s Food Chain Partnership and the IG4 Program for monitoring crops.

These figures have had a positive socio-economic impact on Moguer and the region with the hiring of local labour and the implementation of our leading CSR program ‘Cultivate your values.’
