More than 300 primary school students from the Moguer and Mazagón educational centres learnt how to eat in a wholesome and healthy way with the second educational unit of the awareness campaign ‘Grow your values’.
Led by Grufesa, this all-encompassing education in values project was carried out in the public schools in the area with the aim of making them more aware of the socio-economic importance of the strawberry sector.
Third-year primary school pupils from the Camprubí, Virgen de Montemayor, Pedro Alonso Niño and El Faro schools participated in the second of the five educational units, all about health and nutrition, to increase their awareness of the importance of a healthy and balanced diet to help their optimal growth.
Through fun games the children learnt to classify types of food according to their nutritional values in the food wheel, how often they should be eaten and how to combine them properly to be able to get the most out of all of their properties.
‘Grow Your Values’ also involves collaboration by the City Hall of Moguer and Obra Social La Caixa and will be run throughout the school year, reaching over 1,200 students.
